Band size chart in cm
| Underbust (cm) | UK band | EU band | French band |
|---|---|---|---|
| 69–74 | 28 | 60 | 75 |
| 74–79 | 30 | 65 | 80 |
| 79–84 | 32 | 70 | 85 |
| 84–89 | 34 | 75 | 90 |
| 89–94 | 36 | 80 | 95 |
| 94–99 | 38 | 85 | 100 |
| 99–104 | 40 | 90 | 105 |
| 104–109 | 42 | 95 | 110 |
| 109–114 | 44 | 100 | 115 |
Adjacent rows share a boundary on purpose. If your underbust sits on one, around 79 or 84 cm for instance, you are between two bands and both are worth trying.

A worked example in cm
Underbust 76 cm, bust 92 cm.
- 76 cm falls in the 74–79 cm row, so the band is a UK 30, which is an EU 65.
- A 30 band is 76 cm (30 × 2.54).
- 92 − 76 = 16 cm. That is closest to 15.2 cm, a UK E.
- Starting size: UK 30E, labelled 65F in most European sizing.
UK and European sizes are not the same thing in different units
It is tempting to treat an EU size as the UK size written in centimetres. The bands do convert neatly, but the cups do not use the same letters. European cups run straight through the alphabet, with no double letters, so they pull ahead of the UK from the fifth cup on. A UK DD is an EU E, and a UK E is an EU F.
That is why the calculator shows both labels. Sloggi, Triumph, Hunkemöller and other continental brands use European sizing, and British brands use UK sizing, often with the other printed alongside. All the systems are compared in the international bra size chart.
Measuring in centimetres
The technique is identical whichever side of the tape you read: snug under the bust, resting lightly over the fullest part, tape level all the way round. Read to the nearest half centimetre. The full method is in how to measure your bra size.
Frequently asked questions
How do I work out my bra size in cm?
Measure your underbust and bust in centimetres. Find your underbust in the band table to get your UK band. Then subtract the centimetre equivalent of that band from your bust, and count one cup for every 2.5 cm. Or enter both numbers in the calculator above.
Why are UK bra sizes in inches when I measure in cm?
UK band sizes are a historical inch-based system: a 34 band is built around a 34-inch ribcage. European sizes are centimetre-based, so a 34 is a 75. The calculator converts for you and shows both.
How many cm is one cup size?
About 2.5 cm of bust circumference, which is one inch. A bust 12.5 cm larger than the band is a UK DD.
Not measured recently? It takes two minutes.
